G's Growers

G's Growers Ltd is an independent producer organisation with growers in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, West Midlands, Dorset, West Sussex and the Murcia region of southern Spain.  Vegetables and salads are the organisation's main produce, but there has been some diversification into citrus fruits and flowers in more recent years.  Products are distributed in the UK and Europe, as well as to North America.  G's Growers Ltd owns and heads the ARTIS project.

NIAB

NIAB

NIAB is a major UK centre for plant science, crop evaluation and agronomy. It is based in Cambridge, with regional offices across England, and has an internationally recognised reputation in independent research, and information and knowledge transfer.  NIAB's role in the ARTIS project is to work with a wide network of researchers and industry experts to develop training content and products, and oversee the delivery of training.

LANTRA

Lantra

Lantra (a combination of the words 'land' and 'training') is the UK's Sector Skills Council for land-based and environmental industries - supporting skills and training for people and businesses in the land-based and environmental sector.  Lantra's mission is to maximise the impact of investment in world-class skills and business development, to create a competitive, dynamic and professional sector.  Within ARTIS, Lantra's role is responsibility for employer engagement, accreditation and quality control.

HM GOVERNMENT

Department for Business Innovation & Skills

Government involvement in ARTIS began with an invite from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, for industry to submit programmes to improve productivity, sustainability and profitability.  In response, ARTIS was submitted by G's with the support of NIAB, EMR and Lantra.  The bid was accepted and funding is in place from the UK Commission for Employment and Skills as well as from industry until March 2017, after which ARTIS will be self-sustaining.

NIAB EMR

NIAB EMR was established by the fruit growing sector to address challenges faced by growers.  Based in Kent, it conducts high-quality strategic and applied research in horticultural and environmental sciences, and delivers knowledge, products and services that benefit public and private customers.  NIAB EMR's role in the ARTIS project is to provide expertise and knowledge from the sector to assist NIAB in developing training content and products.
